THE NEVER ENDING DEBATE

So my man Phillip Rivers did it to the Giants with about 97 seconds to go this weekend, and the great debate of Rivers or Manning picked up a little more steam, since it happened to be the aforementioned child prodigy of Archie (and brother of that other QB) who took the loss, along with the rest of his team, the early season sweetheart New York Giants . It was another kind of win you'd expect from the Chargers, who usually have me searching for a high bridge to jump from the first 6 weeks of the season or so; moreso in the last two years with their pass-happy offense and lackluster blocking for one of the elite running backs of our time, LaDainian Tomlinson. But it showed courage; it showed some talent. And the Merriman sack at the end? Well, that was the surge I, along with most other Bolts fans, had been hoping to see all season. If they can bring that kind of moxie into the next few weeks' contests, including tilts against perennial NFC favorite Philadelphia Eagles and what now looms as a huge rematch of a Monday Night heartbreaker a few weeks ago against the (then seemingly, now, not so much) unbeatable division foe Denver Broncos, good things are gonna happen. Let the Giants have Manning and their ring; I'll stick with Rivers and hope to earn mine.
